// PRIVACY POLICY

Your data, no glitches.

The short version: we don't track you on this site, we don't sell anything about you, and leaderboards are opt-in. The full route is split below.

01. Who we are

SPLIT 1/8

Quartz Gecko Games is a small independent studio that makes pixel-art precision platformers: Wallcling, Geode Drop, Facet Run and the upcoming Prism Lizard, on Steam and Nintendo Switch. This policy covers this website, our games and how we talk to you by email.

Questions, requests or worries? Write to [email protected]. A real person on the team reads it.

We're a tiny studio. Email us about anything here.

02. What we collect

SPLIT 2/8

On this website: nothing personal by design. There are no accounts, no ad trackers and no analytics scripts. Like any web server, ours may keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) to keep the site running and secure. The page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.

In our games:

  • Leaderboards (opt-in): your platform display name or player ID, run times, category, and the replay file of inputs for that run.
  • Cloud saves: handled by Steam or Nintendo through their own systems; we don't run separate save servers.
  • Crash reports: if you choose to send one, technical details like game version, hardware and the error. No names or contact details.
  • Email: if you write to us or join a playtest, your email address and whatever you tell us.

We don't collect payment details. Purchases happen in the Steam and Nintendo stores.

No website tracking. Games only send run times and replays if you opt into leaderboards.

03. How we use it

SPLIT 3/8

  • To show leaderboards and let runners verify each other's runs via replays.
  • To spot cheated or impossible times and remove them.
  • To fix bugs and crashes.
  • To reply to you and run playtests you've signed up for.
  • To keep this website secure and working.

We don't build advertising profiles, and our games don't show ads.

Boards, bug fixes, replies. No ads, no profiling.

04. Third parties and sharing

SPLIT 4/8

We never sell your personal data. We share it only where needed:

  • Platforms: Steam and Nintendo process data when you buy, play, save or use their online features, under their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers: hosting and email providers that store data for us under contract, only to provide their service.
  • Public boards: your display name, times and replays are visible to other players on leaderboards you opt into.
  • The law: if we're legally required to disclose information.

Not for sale. Ever. Platforms and hosting only, plus whatever you choose to put on a public board.

05. Children's privacy

SPLIT 5/8

Our games are rated for general audiences, but we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Leaderboards use platform accounts, and platform parental controls can switch online features off.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

We don't knowingly collect kids' data. Tell us and we'll delete it.

06. Your rights

SPLIT 6/8

You can ask us to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you,
  • correct it if it's wrong,
  • delete it, including leaderboard entries and replays,
  • object to or limit how we use it.

Email [email protected] with the game and your platform display name. We may ask you to confirm the account is yours. You can also leave leaderboards at any time from the game's options menu.

Ask to see, fix or delete your data. Free, by email.

07. Data retention

SPLIT 7/8

  • Leaderboard entries and replays: kept while the board is live, or until you ask us to remove them.
  • Crash reports: kept only as long as we need to fix the issue.
  • Emails and playtest sign-ups: kept while the conversation or playtest is active, then deleted when no longer needed.
  • Server logs: kept for a short period, then deleted.

We keep things only as long as they're useful, then clear them out.

08. Changes to this policy

SPLIT 8/8

If our games or this website change how they handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in game patch notes.

New version, new date at the top.
